So, who are you guys?
We are a company of musicians who want to benefit other musicians. After spending too many years trying to get noticed, and seeing too many people get discouraged in the same process, we decided to provide a venue for not just our own music, but also a way to assist others break into the business. The internet is a pretty powerful tool. We should all be using it.
How long have you been at this?
Music? Collectively, 70+ years of music is represented in the people behind this organization. On the promotion side, a little more than 2 years. Recording, more than 16 years total.
One of the first things we did after setting up the Web Radio stream, was to launch a Record Label that was an artists' label, taking only 20% of net after any expenses are recouped, with 80% going directly to the artists.
The site was established on April 5, 2002 and our first submissions happened in the first three days of operation. We hope this is a good indication of where it will go.
What else do you do besides list and play music?
After the label was up and running, with 5 artist's albums in iTunes, the next logical step was to design and build a hybrid studio. If you have some rough tracks you need mixed down, or you have a song with a good start and need some other musicians to flesh it out, we can do that for you, too. If you live in the Austin area, we can work with you to cut some tracks live. Even using a portable "studio in a box" designed to capture ambient mixes or multi-tracked live performances (PreSonus 16.2.0 mobile board), or you can book time in the studio for the best capture possible.
If you are outside of Austin, we can host a virtual studio via ftp (100GB of dedicated disc space just for storing and working on these tracks). Contact us if you want more information. Just drop us a line via the contact information link, or email Lowell.
